Fundamental virtues

The developmental a personal value system results in “moral maturity” – a state in which the individual has developed the capacity to take responsibility for ethical decision making. It involves a moral freedom, the freedom both to see and to do one’s duty. This implies a “virtuos” person. The importance of virtues in ethical practice is clear. It is said that there are four fundamental virtues (Plato’s Divine Virtues).
