Indian ethos

It is still generally a taboo in India for lovers or spouses to kiss or embrace each other in public places.

Showing respect to parents, elders, superiors, teachers, in ways that differ very slightly is a uniform feature of Indian society.

The notion of marriage as a lifelong bond of mutual fidelity is still a dominant characteristic across all segments of Indian society.
