Consequentialist Theories

Consequentialist theories (concerned with outcomes) see good as defined not by the action, buy by the consequence. In this theory, killing another human being may be morally good, provided it gives rise to some greater good. For example, it has been argued that the deaths caused by the first atom bomb were morally acceptable because the consequence was to save far more lives through the consequent earlier ending of the war.
